Keurig K-Duo vs Ninja DualBrew: two answers to the same household argument
Updated by Isadora Venn. Links to Amazon earn us a commission (how that works).
Both machines brew pods on one side and a full carafe on the other. This Keurig K-Duo vs Ninja DualBrew page compares the K-Duo Hot & Iced and the DualBrew GP161 as listed on Oct. 27, 2026, and includes our Keurig K-Duo review notes.
Short answer
Keurig K-Duo or Ninja DualBrew? Choose the K-Duo if your house runs on K-Cups and you need a shorter machine. Choose the DualBrew for rapid cold brew and more brew styles.
Neither is SCA certified, which is normal for pod-plus-carafe machines, since the certification program is built around drip brewing and none of the hybrid designs on the market appear on the list as of late October 2026. Both use glass carafes on warming plates. And both carry the same cost problem: every pod mug costs more than a mug from the carafe.

Which one
Choose the Keurig K-Duo if
- K-Cups are already in your pantry.
- Your cabinets are low.
- You want a bigger shared reservoir.
Choose the Ninja DualBrew if
- You want cold brew in minutes.
- You like having Rich and Over Ice options.
- You'd brew single cups from grounds as well as pods.
If nobody actually needs pods, skip both. Keurig alternatives lists podless machines that brew a single mug well.
Keurig K-Duo review notes
The K-Duo Hot & Iced brews K-Cup pods in sizes from 6 to 12 oz, and grounds into a 12-cup glass carafe in batches from 6 to 12 cups. One 72 oz reservoir feeds both sides, which means fewer refills than most combo machines.
Keurig adds a Brew Over Ice setting that adjusts temperature for iced drinks. There's also a Strong option, plus an Extra Hot setting for single cups. The carafe side can auto-brew up to 24 hours ahead, and pause-and-pour holds the brew for 20 seconds while you pour. The front control panel is easier to read than buttons on top.
Is the Keurig K-Duo worth it? For K-Cup households that also brew pots, yes. It's often priced below the DualBrew, and Amazon sold this version directly when we checked.
On Keurig K-Duo price and deals: the K-Duo family is confusing. Our listings returned four different K-Duo versions, some used, at very different prices. One used K-Duo Plus came back at more than four times the Hot & Iced figure. Match the exact version name before you compare.
Where they differ
Reservoir. Keurig shares 72 oz across both sides. Ninja's removable reservoir is 60 oz.
Brew styles. Ninja offers four brew styles, including Over Ice and Cold Brew, with a full carafe of cold brew in under 20 minutes by its listing. Keurig's settings cover hot and iced brewing, with strong and extra-hot options on top.
Single cups from grounds. Ninja brews a single cup from grounds without a pod. Keurig's single-cup side is built around K-Cups, though reusable pods exist for it.
Height. Keurig lists 12.7 in, Ninja 15.47 in. Nearly three inches is the difference between a machine that slides under a standard upper cabinet with room to lift the lid and one that has to be pulled forward every time somebody wants to drop in a pod.
Care for both
Cleaning the Keurig K-Duo is mostly habit: rinse the carafe basket after each pot and wipe the pod holder daily. Once a week, brew a cup of plain water with no pod in it to flush the single-cup side.
How to descale the Keurig K-Duo: Keurig's procedure runs the solution through both sides, then fresh water. Because the two brewers share one reservoir, scale hits both at once. The Ninja's manual has its own clean cycle, and it needs it just as often.
Worries both answer
Pods or beans: what does a cup really cost?
Neither machine changes pod economics. Use the pod side for the person who insists, and the carafe for everyone else.
Default comparison: 10 oz mug about $0.30 in beans, $0.48 per pod (Brew Clock math).
Can it make just one cup?
Both do single cups. Ninja does it from grounds too; Keurig needs a pod or a reusable pod.
K-Duo: 6 to 12 oz pod brews. DualBrew: single cup from grounds or pods (Amazon listings).
